Torrence Welch
Torrence Welch is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. He earned both B.S.E. and M.S.E. degrees (summa cum laude) in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University in May 2003. His research interests include the neural mechanisms of posture and balance, interlimb coordination, and neuromuscular adaptation and learning. He plans to apply his research in the areas of fall prevention in the elder population, legged robotics, and sports and rehabilitation medicine. He is currently funded on NIH, GRA, and FACES fellowships.
