Cynthia Vance-Harris
Cynthia Vance-Harris is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Ms. Vance-Harris earned a BS in Chemistry from Howard University in 2001. She has been recognized for her academic excellence at Georgia Tech by receiving a President’s Fellowship and a FACES Fellowship. Ms. Vance-Harris is also the recipient of an NSF Graduate Fellowship. She has been very active in the K-12 science education community as a 2003-04 STEP Fellow at Stone Mountain HS, an instructor for SummerScape, a science camp for grade 6-8 students, and a speaker at DH Stanton Elementary School. Ms. Vance-Harris’ dissertation research is focused on marine nitrogen cycling in coastal sediments.
