Bobby Gene Watkins II
Bobby Gene Watkins II, born January 23, 1980, is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in May of 2002. During his undergraduate studies, he received several distinguished honors including the J. M. Marteena, NASA PAIR, and Thurgood Marshall scholarships. He was also active in the honor fraternity Pi Tau Sigma. He obtained his Master’s of Science degree in mechanical engineering at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in May of 2004. In the fall of 2004, he joined the Ph.D. program at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a member of the tribology research group in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering.
